| Recently, tests were conducted on the effectiveness of a Combination Lighting Retrofit for 2' x 4' recessed fluorescent light fixtures. The original fixtures, which had T12 fluorescent lamps and standard ballasts, were re-built with an engineered combination of T8 lamps, electronic ballasts, and reflector inserts. The results were impressive! • 66% energy consumption reduction • 66% energy demand reduction • 95% of the light retained While the economics will vary with the installation, in office applications this measure can be expected to yield about a 1.0 - to - 2.5 year payback.
